The effects of selenium enriched yeast on growth performance, serum biochemical indicators, and intestinal morphology of piglets
This experiment aims to explore the effects of selenium enriched yeast on the growth performance, serum biochemical indicators, and intestinal morphology of piglets.600 healthy piglets with a weight of(8.05±0.23)kg were divided into 4 groups, with 10 replicates in each group, and 15 piglets in each replicate. The experiment lasted for a total of 28 days.Add selenium rich yeast at 0,0.1,0.2,and 0.4 mg/kg as the experimental feed. The results showed that compared with the control group, the FBW of piglets in the selenium enriched yeast group supplemented with 0.2 and 0.4 mg/kg significantly increased by 3.44%and 4.03%(P<0.05);ADG significantly increased by 8.14%and 11.33%(P<0.05);F/G significantly decreased by 7.16%and 9.66%(P<0.05);In addition, selenium enriched yeast had no significant effect on IBW and ADFI(P>0.05).Serum IgA,IgG,and IL-1 in piglets treated with selenium enriched yeast at concentrations of 0.2 and 0.4 mg/kg β The content significantly increased(P<0.05);The serum IgM content of piglets in the selenium enriched yeast group with 0.4 mg/kg was significantly increased(P<0.05);The serum GSH Px activity and T-AOC ability of piglets were significantly increased in the selenium enriched yeast groups of 0.2 and 0.4 mg/kg(P<0.05);The serum H2O2 content of piglets in the selenium enriched yeast groups of 0.2 and 0.4 mg/kg was significantly reduced(P<0.05);In addition, selenium enriched yeast has an effect on the serum TNF-α of piglets. There was no significant effect on NO content and SOD activity(P>0.05).The villus height in the jejunum and ileum of piglets in the 0.2 and 0.4 mg/kg selenium enriched yeast groups was significantly increased(P<0.05);The duodenal crypt depth of piglets in the 0.2 mg/kg selenium enriched yeast group was significantly reduced(P<0.05);The V/C values in the duodenum and ileum of piglets in the 0.2 and 0.4 mg/kg selenium enriched yeast groups were significantly increased(P<0.05);The V/C value of piglets in the 0.2 mg/kg selenium enriched yeast group significantly increased(P<0.05).In summary, based on the comprehensive detection of various indicators in this experiment, the optimal amount of selenium enriched yeast added is 0.2 mg/kg.
