Effects of glycerol tributyrate on growth performance, immunity and digestibility of herring
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of tributylglycerol on the growth, immunity and digestibility of herring.360 juvenile herring with an initial body mass of(12.47±0.69)g were randomly divided into 4 groups with 3 replicates in each group(n=30).The four groups of juvenile herring were fed with equal nitrogen and equal fat diets supplemented with 0、500、1000 and 2000 mg/kg tributylglycerol respectively for 8 weeks. The results showed that the final body weight of herring was significantly increased and the feed coefficient was significantly decreased by adding glycerol tributylate 1000 and 2000 mg/kg(P<0.05),the liver/body ratio of herring was significantly increased when the addition of 2000 mg/kg.In terms of immune performance, the addition of 500mg/kg tributylglycerol significantly increased the content of superoxide dismutase of herring(P<0.05),the addition of 1000 and 2000 mg/kg tributylglycerol significantly increased the content of lysozyme and C3 of herring(P<0.05),but the addition of glycerol tributylate had no significant effect on alkaline phosphatase and C4 of herring tissue(P>0.05).In terms of digestibility, the addition of 500 mg/kg tributylglycerol significantly increased the content of superoxide dismutase of herring(P<0.05),the addition of 1000 and 2000 mg/kg tributylglycerol significantly increased the content of lysozyme and C3 of herring(P<0.05),the addition of glycerol tributylate had no significant effect on alkaline phosphatase and C4 of herring tissue(P>0.05).In a word, the addition of tributylglycerol in feed has a certain positive effect on the growth, immunity and digestibility of herring.Under the experimental conditions, the optimum addition of tributylglycerol is 1000 mg/kg.
