Effects of fermented feed on growth performance, slaughter performance, meat quality and serum immune indicators of Hu sheep
This study was conducted to explore the effects of fermented feed on growth performance, slaughter performance, meat quality and serum immune indexes of Hu sheep.Forty healthy male Hu sheep lambs, aged 3 months and weighing about 30 kg,were selected in a completely randomized design with 2 replicates in each group and 10 lambs in each replicate. The experimental group was fed with basal diet supplemented with 10%fermented feed, while the control group was fed with basal diet. There was a 7-day pre-test period and a 90-day test period. The results showed that comoared with the control group, the final body weight, average daily gain of Hu sheep increased by 4.13%,11.14%and the feed/body weight ratio decreased by 8.51%,respectively;The live weight before slaughter, carcass weight, net meat weight, dressing percentage and net meat percentage increased 4.36%,12.77%,18.23%,8.10%and 4.97%respectively;The shear force decreased by 17.72%,and the intramuscular fat content increased by 26.35%;Serum IgG and IL-4 levels increased by 8.87%and 16.06%respectively,and TNF-α level decreased by 9.64%.In summary, under the conditions of this experiment, adding 10%fermented feed to the basic diet can significantly increase the daily gain, reduce the feed/body weight ratio, improve the immune level and anti-inflammatory ability, and improve the meat quality of Hu sheep.
