Effects of grape seed proanthocyanidins on growth performance, immune function and antioxidant capacity of cherry valley ducks
The experiment was conducted to study the effects of grape seed proanthocyanidins(GSPs)on performance, immune function and antioxidant capacity of Cherry Valley ducks.Four hundred and eighty one-day-old cherry valley ducks with similar body weight and health status were randomly divided into 4 groups with 6 replicates in each group and 20 replicates in each group.groups with 6 replicates in each group and 20 ducks in each repetition. The control group was fed with basal diet, and the other groups were fed with GSPs of 50,75 and 100 mg/kg respectively. The results showed that:(1)compared with the control group, the average daily feed intake(ADFI)and average daily gain(ADG)of 75 gsps Group and 100 gsps group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the levels of IgG and TNF-α in the serum of Cherry Valley Ducks supplemented with 75mg/kg GSPS decreased significantly(P<0.05),and the levels of IgG and TNF-α in the serum of Cherry Valley Ducks supplemented with 75 mg/kg GSPS decreased significantly(P<0.05),Compared with the control group,Cat and T-AOC were significantly increased in the GSPS groups, while the activities of SOD and GSH-Px were significantly increased in the 75 GSPs and 100 GSPs groups(P<0.05),and the concentration of Malondialdehyde(MDA)was significantly decreased in the 75 GSPs and 100 GSPs Glutathione peroxidase groups(P<0.05)The results showed that adding GSPs to the diet of Cherry Valley Ducks could improve the daily gain, immunity and antioxidation ability of Cherry Valley ducks. The effect of GSPs 75 mg/kg in the Diet was better.
