Effects of fermented Astragalus membranaceus on growth performance and antioxidant capacity of weaned piglets
The effect of fermented Astragalus membranaceus on growth performance and antioxidant capacity of weaned piglets.Select 400 24 day old weaned piglets with good growth and development status and similar weight, and randomly divide them into 4 groups, with 10 replicates in each group, with 10 piglets per replicate. The control group(Experiment Ⅰ group)was fed with basic diet, the unfermented Astragalus dry powder group(Experiment Ⅱ group)was fed with basic diet+0.5%Astragalus dry powder, the lactobacillus group(Experiment Ⅲ group)was fed with basic diet+0.5%Lactobacillus,and the fermented Astragalus group(Experiment Ⅳ group)was fed with basic diet+0.5%Lactobacillus fermented Astragalus. The experiment lasted for a total of 42 days(including 7 days of pre test and 35 days of trial). The experimental results showed that there was no significant difference in initial body weight(P<0.05);Compared with the control group, the addition of fermented Astragalus membranaceus to the diet significantly increased the final body weight of weaned piglets by 8.7%(P<0.05),the average daily gain significantly increased by 12%(P<0.05),and the feed to weight ratio significantly decreased by 10%(P<0.05).In addition, there was no significant difference in the feed to weight ratio between the treatment groups(P>0.05).The serum CAT activity of weaned piglets with the addition of lactic acid bacteria and fermented Astragalus membranaceus was significantly higher than that of other groups.Among them, the fermented Astragalus membranaceus group had the highest CAT activity(P<0.05).The addition of dried Astragalus membranaceus powder and fermented Astragalus membranaceus membranaceus significantly increased the serum GPX activity of weaned piglets(P<0.05).The addition of fermented Astragalus membranaceus significantly increased the serum T-SOD and T-AOC activity of weaned piglets(P<0.05)and decreased the MDA content(P<0.05).In addition,There was no significant effect(P>0.05)on the serum Cu Zn SOD activity of weaned piglets among different treatment groups.Adding fermented Astragalus membranaceus to the diet significantly increased the activity of CAT and GPX in the ileum of weaned piglets(P<0.05),and decreased the content of serum MDA(P<0.05);In addition, the addition of fermented Astragalus membranaceus to the diet did not significantly affect the activities of T-SOD,Cu Zn SOD,and T-AOC in the ileum of weaned piglets(P>0.05).In summary, the results of this experiment indicate that adding fermented Astragalus membranaceus to the diet can significantly improve the growth performance of weaned piglets.
