The effect of fermented soybean meal on the growth performance, nutrient digestibility, and slaughter performance of fattening pigs
To investigate the effects of fermented soybean meal(FSM)on the growth performance, nutrient digestibility, and slaughter performance of fattening pigs.48 Duroc fattening male pigs with an initial weight of 92.18±1.65kg were selected and randomly divided into 2 groups, with 3 replicates in each group and 8 pigs in each replicate.According to the nutritional requirements of fattening pigs,a soybean meal(SM)type basic diet should be prepared. The SM group of fattening pigs should be fed with the basic diet, while the FSM group of fattening pigs should be fed with the experimental diet(replacing the soybean meal in the basic diet with 10%fermented soybean meal). The pre trial period is 7 days, and the main trial period is 35 days. The results showed that:(1)Compared with the SM group, the FSM group increased the average daily weight gain of fattening pigs by 12.86%(P<0.05),and the feed to weight ratio decreased by 7.78%(P<0.05).The measured body weight showed an upward trend(P<0.10).(2)Compared with the SM group, the FSM group significantly increased the digestibility of dry matter and crude protein in fattening pigs(P<0.05).(3)Compared with the SM group, the FSM group significantly increased the carcass weight and slaughter rate of fattening pigs(P<0.05),and there was an upward trend in live weight before slaughter(P<0.10).It can be seen that replacing soybean meal in the basic diet with 10%fermented soybean meal can improve the growth performance, nutrient digestibility, and slaughter performance of fattening pigs.
