Bile acids are terminal metabolites of cholesterol,which can regulate physiological processes such as glucose and lipid metabolism,energy metabolism and immune response in the body,and are widely used as a new type of feed additives in animal husbandry.The physiological functions of bile acids and their current applications in poultry,swine,aquaculture and other animal cultures were summarized in this paper,with a view to providing references for exogenous bile acid additives.
