Effects of feed sources on the growth and nutritional components of black soldier fly larvae
In this study, the effects of different dietary sources on the growth rate and nutrient composition of the larvae of Horsefly black were examined.A total of 2.4 kg of 5-day-old black gadfly larvae were randomly divided into four groups with three replicates of 200g each. The larvae were divided into kitchen waste group, chicken manure group, pig manure group and cattle manure group according to the food source, and the growth and nutrients of the larvae were measured. The results showed as follows:(1)The dry weight of larvae was in the order of kitchen waste group>chicken manure group>pig manure group>cattle manure group, with significant differences among the groups(P<0.05).The effective feed conversion rate of kitchen waste group was the highest, which was significantly higher than the other three groups(P<0.05).The digestibility of dry matter(DM)was significantly different among the groups(P<0.05),in the order of kitchen waste group>chicken manure group>pig manure group>cattle manure group.(2)The digestibility of crude protein(CP)of the larvae was in the order of kitchen waste group>pig manure group>chicken manure group>cattle manure group, and there was a significant difference among the groups(P<0.05).The digestibility of crude Ash in kitchen waste and cattle manure groups was significantly higher than that in chicken manure and pig manure groups(P<0.05).(3)CP content of larvae in the kitchen waste group was significantly higher than that in the other three groups(P<0.05).The EE content of larvae in kitchen waste and cattle manure groups was significantly higher than that in chicken manure and pig manure groups(P<0.05).The contents of Ash,Ca and P in the chicken manure group were significantly higher than those in the other three groups(P<0.05).There was a positive linear relationship between the nutrient composition of the larvae and the nutrient composition of their diet(P<0.05).In summary, the dry weight and crude protein content of the larvae were the highest in kitchen waste culture, and the effective feed conversion rate was the best in kitchen waste culture, followed by chicken manure and pig and cattle manure. The highest Ash,Ca,and P contents were observed in the larvae of black water fly flies fed chicken manure. There was a positive linear relationship between the nutrient composition of the larvae and the nutrient composition of the diet.
