Effects of aerobic stability of whole-plant corn silage on delaying summer fever in total mixed rations
In this paper,we investigated the effect of whole plant corn silage with different aerobic stability on the heat generation of TMR in summer, with a view to exploring new ways to prevent heat generation of TMR.In this study, three silage pits with similar production process and nutritional level were selected for WPCS and its TMR aerobic stability determination.Lactobacillus fermenter 2 was sprayed in silage pit A,Lactobacillus fermenter 1 and organic acid salts preservative in silage pit B,and Lactobacillus fermenter 1 in silage pit C.The aerobic stability of the three types of WPCS and its TMR was measured at the same time. The results showed that the aerobic stability of WPCS in silage pit A,silage pit B and silage pit C was 36 h,>85.8 h and>79.5 h.The corresponding aerobic stability of TMR made from WPCS was 9.5,31.5 and 29.5 h.It can be seen that aerobic stabilization of WPCS can slow down the secondary fermentation of TMR of dairy cows, and improve the aerobic stability.
