Effects of intercropping of Hybrid Pennisetum and different forages on yield and quality of mixed forage
The experiment aimed to investigate the effects of intercropping Hybrid Pennisetum with different forages on the yield and quality of mixed forage. The experiment selected Lablab purpureus,Sorghum bicolor,Amaranthus hypochondricus,Vigna unguiculata(Linn.)Walp.,and Medicago sativa as intercropping cultivation objects, and intercropped them with a row spacing of 100 cm;After an annual observation of forage growth period, production performance indicators, nutritional composition indicators, comprehensive evaluation of membership functions, and economic benefit analysis were conducted. The results showed that the intercropping of Hybrid Pennisetum with Laba bean and sweet sorghum had good growth period matching, and could be cut and utilized twice a year; The nutritional quality evaluation of intercropping with Laba bean was the best, with a mean membership function of 0.69 and a crude protein content of 15.91%in the mixed forage; The economic benefits of intercropping with sweet sorghum were the best, with an annual fresh grass yield of 103.92 t/hm2 and an annual economic income of 46763.37 CNY/hm2.Research had shown that both Laba bean and sweet sorghum were suitable for intercropping with Hybrid Pennisetum for production.
