Comparative and analysis of production performance of Cobb 500 and AA white feather broilers
The purpose of this experiment was to explore the differences of the performance betweenCobb 500 and AA white feather broilers.Cobb 500 and AA white feather broilers were took as the research objects, the average feed intake, weight, daily gain,feed-meat ratio, mortality rate and European benefit indexwere determined, and the differences were compared between Cobb 500 and AA white feather broilers. The results showed that,(1)The average feed intake of Cobb 500 broilers changed greatly in the early stage, and at the age of 2 weeks,it was significantly higher than that of AA broilers(P<0.05),while at the age of 3weeks,it was significantly lower than that of AA broilers(P<0.05),but during the whole experimental period(1~6 weeks),the average intake of Cobb 500 broilers was higher than that of AA broilers, but the difference was not significant(P>0.05);(2)At the age of 7 and 35 days, the average weight of Cobb 500 broilers was significantly higher than that of AA broilers(P<0.05),and at the age of 5 weeks, the average daily gain of Cobb 500 broilers was significantly higher than that of AA broilers(P<0.05),while the averageweight and daily gain of Cobb 500 broilers was higher than that of AA broilers at other weeks and during the whole experimental period(1~6 weeks),but the difference was not significant(P>0.05);(3)The feed-to-weight ratio of Cobb 500 broilers was lower than that of AA broilers in each week and the whole experimental period(1~6 weeks),but the difference was not significant(P>0.05);(4)At the age of 4 weeks, the mortality rate of Cobb 500 broilers was significantly higher than that of AA broilers(P<0.05),while at other weeks and throughout the experimental period(1-6 weeks),the mortality rate of Cobb 500 broilers was higher than that of AA broilers, but the difference was not significant(P>0.05);(5)The European benefit index(EPI)of Cobb 500 broilers was higher than that of AA white feather broilers, but the difference was not significant(P>0.05).Comprehensive analysis:the production performance and breeding benefit of Cobb 500 broilers is better than that of AA broilers.
