Progress of research on the application of acidifiers in early weaned piglet production
Piglets have imperfect digestive system,and their feeding is one of factors leading to high mortality in pig production.Since the EU and China banned the application of antibiotics in animal feed.Therefore,looking for new growth promoters is urgent.Organic acids and inorganic acids and their salts are gradually replacing antibiotics due to their effective and safe characteristics,and are widely used in the production of weaned piglets.Their use is affected by many factors,such as environmental factors,type and dosage,dietary composition,animal factors,dietary ion balance,etc.The correct use of acidifiers can bring good results to animal husbandry production.This paper reviewed the classification,role,influencing factors of acidifiers and their effects on growth performance,immune performance,antioxidant performance,intestinal health and blood biochemical indexes of weaned piglets,aimed to provide a reference for the application of acidifiers in the practical production of weaned piglets.
