Advances in researching the regulatory effects of algae on animal health
Algae,as one of the ancient microorganisms, are widely distributed in nature. The rich bioactive components of algae, such as polysaccharides, proteins, and fatty acids, bestow upon them various biological activities, including anti-inflammatory,antioxidant,and immune-regulatory properties.Consequently, researching the utilization of algae as a means to regulate animal health in feed has emerged as a prominent area of study. The objective of this review was to comprehensively summarize the advancements in regulating animal health through algae, explore their bioactive components and mechanisms of action, and assess their potential applications in animal feed.Furthermore, the future research directions were explored. This review aimed to references and guidance for researchers in related domains, facilitated the adoption and growth of algae-based feed, and presented more efficient and economical strategies for the animal farming industry.
