The effect of adding compound probiotics to feed on the gut microbiota, egg production performance, and antioxidant function of Jinding laying ducks
The aim is to investigate the effects of probiotics composed of Bacillus licheniformis and Bifidobacterium on the gut microbiota, egg production performance, and antioxidant function of Jinding laying ducks.Select 800 healthy golden laying ducks of similar weight at 52 weeks old during the peak egg laying period, and randomly divide them into 2 groups, with 4 replicates in each group and 100 ducks in each replicate. The control group was fed with a basic diet, while the experimental group was supplemented with a 0.5% combination of Bacillus licheniformis and Bifidobacterium in the basic diet. The trial period was 35 days. The results showed that:(1)the number of Bacillus and Bifidobacterium in the jejunum and cecum of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),while the number of Escherichia coli,Salmonella, and Clostridium perfringens was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05);(2)The average daily egg production, egg production rate, average daily egg weight, average daily feed intake, and average egg weight of the experimental group of Jinding laying ducks were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05),and the feed to egg ratio was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05);(3)The content of catalase, total superoxide dismutase activity, total antioxidant capacity, and glutathione peroxidase activity in the serum of the experimental group of Jinding laying ducks were significantly increased(P<0.05),while the content of malondialdehyde was significantly reduced(P<0.05).Research has shown that adding 0.5% of Bacillus licheniformis and Bifidobacterium complex probiotics to feed can increase the abundance of beneficial bacteria in the intestines of laying ducks, reduce the number of pathogenic bacteria, maintain intestinal health, accelerate nutrient utilization, and thus improve the egg production performance and antioxidant function of laying ducks.
