The effects of bio fermented feed on the growth performance, intestinal morphology, and intestinal barrier gene expression of meat ducks
This study aims to investigate the effects of bio fermented feed on the growth performance, intestinal morphology, and intestinal barrier gene expression of meat ducks.720 1-day-old meat male ducks were randomly divided into 3 groups, with 10 replicates in each group, with 24 ducks per replicate. On the basis of the basic feed in each stage,0%,3%,and 6% fermented feed were added as experimental feed, and the experiment lasted for 42 days. The results showed that compared with the control group, the 42 day body weight of meat ducks in the group with 3% fermented feed increased significantly by 3.48% (P<0.05);The addition of 3% fermented feed significantly reduced the feed to weight ratio of meat ducks from 22 to 42 days by 4.88% (P<0.05);The addition of 3% fermented feed significantly increased the average daily weight gain of meat ducks from 1 to 42 days by 3.56% (P<0.05);In addition, adding 0%~6% fermented feed had no significant effect on the growth performance indicators of stage meat ducks(P>0.05).The jejunal villus height and V/C value of meat ducks in the 3%~6% fermented feed group were significantly increased(P<0.05);The addition of 3% and 6% fermented feed significantly increased the villus height and V/C value in the ileum(P<0.05);In addition, adding 0%~6% fermented feed to the diet had no significant effect on the crypt depth of each intestinal segment in meat ducks(P>0.05).The addition of 3% fermented feed significantly increased the expression of Occludin gene in the jejunum of meat ducks(P<0.05);The addition of 6% fermented feed significantly increased the expression of ZO-1 gene in the jejunum of meat ducks(P<0.05);The addition of 3% fermented feed significantly increased the expression of Occludin gene in the ileum of meat ducks(P<0.05);In addition,0%~6% fermented feed had no significant effect on the expression of Claudin-1 gene in the jejunum and ileum,as well as the expression of ZO-1 gene in the ileum of meat ducks(P>0.05).In summary, the results of this experiment indicate that fermented feed can improve the intestinal morphology and promote growth of meat ducks.Under the conditions of this experiment, the optimal amount of fermented feed added is 3% .
