The effects of different treatments of corn straw on the growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility, and economic benefits of beef cattle
To analyze the effects of different treatments of corn straw on the growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility, and economic benefits of beef cattle.72 beef cattle with an initial weight of(426.16±22.60)kg were selected for this experiment and randomly divided into 4 groups. The blank group did not receive treatment with corn straw, while the remaining 3 groups were treated with probiotics, cellulase, probiotics+cellulase to replace the crude corn straw feed in the basic diet. Each group had 3 replicates, with 6 heads per replicate. The pre trial period is 7 days, and the main trial period is 60 days. The results showed that compared with the blank group, the treatment of corn straw with probiotics and cellulase significantly increased the average daily weight gain and feed intake of beef cattle by 36.04% and 27.07% (P<0.05),and the feed to weight ratio significantly decreased by 6.61% (P<0.05).2)Compared with the blank group, the apparent digestibility of organic matter, crude protein, and acidic detergent fiber in beef cattle significantly increased(P<0.05)when corn stover was treated with probiotics and cellulase.3)During the entire experiment, the economic benefits of the four groups of beef cattle were 818.47 yuan/animal,951.58 yuan/animal,957.47 yuan/animal,and 1178.10 yuan/animal,respectively.Judging from economic benefits, using probiotics and cellulase to treat corn stover resulted in the highest economic benefits for beef cattle, reaching 1178.10 yuan per animal. Conclusion:The use of probiotics, cellulase, and probiotics+cellulase to treat corn stover can improve the growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility, and economic benefits of beef cattle.Among them, the probiotics+cellulase treatment method has the best effect.
