Statistical analysis and response strategies of China's feed grains import dependence from the perspective of the big food concept
The rapid development of animal husbandry has led to a sustained growth in the demand for feed grains. However, due to the objective conditions of a large population and limited arable land, there is still a certain gap between the production supply and actual demand of feed grains in China. Therefore, there is a high dependence on the import of major feed grains such as corn and soybeans, which poses a potential threat to China's food security.Especially from the perspective of the big food concept, feed grains can be used as both human rations and processed into feed, providing animal derived food in the end market.Given the importance of food security, this article starts from the resource status of feed grains in China and combines statistical analysis of the dependence on feed grain imports to propose the challenges faced by feed grain security in China. From the perspective of the big food concept, countermeasures are proposed to reduce the dependence of feed grains on external markets, enhance the safety and sustainability of feed grain supply, and effectively ensure food security in China.
