The effect of allicin on growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility, and slaughter performance of small tailed han sheep
The experiment aims to investigate the effects of allicin on the growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility, and slaughter performance of small tailed Han sheep.120 small tailed Han sheep with good physical condition, similar age,and initial weight of(37.26±1.85)kg were selected and randomly divided into 3 groups, with 4 replicates in each group and 10 sheep in each replicate.Three groups of small tailed Han sheep were fed with a basic diet of+0 g/t,200 g/t,and 400 g/t of allicin. The pre trial period is 7 days, and the main trial period is 60 days. The results showed that:(1)Compared with the 0 g/t allicin group, the 200 g/t allicin group significantly increased the average daily weight gain and dry matterby 11.93%(P<0.05)and 7.58%(P<0.05);The average daily weight gain and dry matter in the 400 g/t allicin group significantly increased by 16.94%(P<0.05)and 7.72%(P<0.05),and the feed conversion ratio significantly decreased by 7.89%(P<0.05).(2)Compared with the 0 g/t allicin group, the apparent digestibility of dry matter, crude protein, and neutral detergent fiber in the 400 g/t allicin group of small tailed Han sheep was significantly increased(P<0.05).(3)Compared with the 0 g/t allicin group, the body weight and slaughter rate of small tailed Han sheep in the 200-400 g/t allicin group were significantly increased(P<0.05).Conclusion:Adding 400 g/t of allicin to the basic diet can improve the growth performance, apparent nutrient digestibility, and slaughter performance of small tailed Han sheep.
