Effects of tannic acid on growth performance, rumen fermentation parameters and apparent digestibility of nutrients in meat sheep
To study the effects of tannin acid(TA)on the growth performance, rumen fermentation parameters and apparent digestibility of nutrients in meat sheep.200 sheep were divided into 4 groups according to the principle of full randomization, with 1 group for every 10 replicates and 5 sheep for each replicate. The groups were fed experimental diets of 0,150,300 and 600 mg/kg added to the basal diet, respectively. The trial lasted for 9 weeks, including 1 week of preliminary test and 8 weeks of main test. Results:the FBW of the 600 mg/kg TA group was significantly higher than that of the control group by 2.51%(P<0.05),the ADG of the TA group at 600 mg/kg was significantly increased by 8.47%compared with the control group(P<0.05),the DMI of the TA group at 300 and 600 mg/kg was significantly increased by 3.01%and 2.78%compared with the control group(P<0.05),and the F/G of the TA group at 600 mg/kg was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the F/G was significantly higher than that of the control group by 5.25%(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the rumen protein content of the TA group at 300 and 600 mg/kg was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The rumen pH and total volatile fatty acid content of the TA group at 300 and 600 mg/kg were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The rumen acetic acid content of meat sheep in the TA group at 300 and 600 mg/kg was significantly decreased(P<0.05).The content of rumen valeric acid in the TA groups at 300 and 600 mg/kg was significantly increased(P<0.05).The digestibility of crude protein in beef cattle in the TA group at 300 and 600 mg/kg was significantly improved(P<0.05).The digestibility of crude fat in the TA group at 600 mg/kg was significantly improved(P<0.05).The digestibility of crude fat in the TA group at 600 mg/kg was significantly improved(P<0.05).The digestibility of neutral detergent fiber in the TA group was significantly increased(P<0.05).Tannic acid can improve rumen fermentation and nutrient absorption and ultimately improve the growth performance of meat sheep, and under the conditions of this experiment,600 mg/kg TA had the best feeding effect on meat sheep.
