Effects of different proportions of miscellaneous meal replacing soybean meal on growth performance, serum indexes and economic benefits of Luxi cattle
To study the effects of different proportions of cottonseed meal, corn alcohol residue and monosodium glutamate residue replacing soybean meal on growth performance, serum indexes and economic benefits of Luxi cattle.Thirty-six Luxi cattle with good body condition and similar body weight of(250±20)kg were randomly divided into 3 groups with 12 cows per group.Cattle in the control group were fed a basal diet, and those in 5%and 10%soybean meal replacement group were fed a mixture of cottonseed meal,DDGS and MSG residue to replace 5%and 10%soybean meal in concentrate supplement, respectively. The pre-trial period lasted for 15 days and the experimental period lasted for 60 days. The results showed that dry matter intake(DMI)and daily gain(ADG)of beef cattle in different treatment groups had no significant difference(P>0.05),but the feed to gain ratio of 5%soybean meal replacement group was significantly lower than that of control group(P<0.05);The apparent digestibility of dry matter(DMD)in the control group was the highest(82.28%),and the apparent digestibility of protein(CPD)in the 10%soybean meal replacement group was the highest(64.68%).The contents of alanine aminotransferase(ALT)and aspartate aminotransferase(AST)in 5%and 10%soybean meal replacement groups were significantly lower than those in control group(P<0.05);There were no significant differences in immune, antioxidant and hormone indexes in beef serum among different treatment groups(P>0.05);The gross profit per head per day in 5%soybean meal replacement group was 0.54,0.68 yuan/d higher than that in control group and 10%soybean meal replacement group, respectively. In conclusion, replacing 5%soybean meal in concentrate supplement with cottonseed meal,DDGS and MSG residue could reduce feed to gain ratio, increase economic benefit.
