The effect of citrus extract on the growth performance, serum immune indicators, and economic benefits of fattening pigs
To investigate the effects of Citrus Extract(CE)on the growth performance, serum immune indicators, and economic benefits of fattening pigs. 120 healthy and similar initial weight(52.74±2.62kg)Du Chang Da fattening pigs were selected and randomly divided into 4 groups,3 replicates, and 10 pigs. Among them, the CON group was fed a basic diet according to the"Piglet and Growing Fattening Pig Compound Feed"(GB/T 5915-2020),while the other three groups were fed a basic diet plus 100 mg/kg(100 CE group),200 mg/kg(200 CE group),and 300 mg/kg(300 CE group)of citrus extract as experimental diets. The preliminary trial period is 7 days, the trial period is 56 days, and the fattening pigs are free to eat and drink during the trial period. Result:(1)With the increase of citrus extract addition in the basal diet, the ADG of fattening pigs first increased and then decreased, and the F/G first decreased and then increased. Among them, compared with the CON group, the ADG of the 100 CE group significantly increased by 7.54%(P<0.05),and the F/G significantly decreased by 7.55%(P<0.05);The ADG of the 200 CE group significantly increased by 8.22%(P<0.05),and the F/G significantly decreased by 8.81%(P<0.05). (2)Compared with the CON group, the serum IgA content in the 100 CE group,200 CE group, and 300 CE group significantly increased by 15.09%(P<0.05),15.09%(P<0.05),and 18.87%(P<0.05);The serum IgG content in the 300 CE group significantly increased by 12.45%(P<0.05),while the TNF-α content significantly decreased by 18.82%(P<0.05).(3) The economic benefits of raising four groups of fattening pigs are 360.66 yuan/head,426.99 yuan/head,434.12 yuan/head,and 393.21 yuan/head,respectively. Among them, the 200 CE group has the best economic benefits. Conclusion:Citrus extract can improve the growth performance, serum immune function, and economic benefits of fattening pigs. Among them, when the amount of citrus extract added is 200mg/kg,the growth performance and economic benefits of fattening pigs are optimal.
