The influence of different feeding modes on the growth performance, slaughter performance, and meat quality of Sanhuang chickens
To investigate the effects of different feeding modes on the growth performance, slaughter performance, and meat quality of Sanhuang chickens.600 Sanhuang chickens with the same age(28 days)and similar weight(326.48±9.25g)were selected for the experiment and randomly divided into 4 groups, with 3 replicates in each group and 50 chickens in each replicate.Among them, each group was fed with a basic diet and adopted cage feeding, bedding flat feeding, net flat feeding, and free range under the forest. The experiment lasted for 28 days, during which Sanhuang Chickens were free to eat and drink. The results showed that:(1)Compared with the cage group, the average daily weight gain of Sanhuang chickens in the bedding flat group, online flat group, and understory free range group decreased by 5.53%(P>0.05),3.21%(P>0.05),and 10.39%(P<0.05),respectively,while the feed to weight ratio of Sanhuang chickens increased by 5.96%(P>0.05),4.26%(P>0.05),and 13.19%(P<0.05),respectively.(2)Compared with the cage group, bedding group, and net group, the under forest free range group showed a significant increase in the muscle percentage of Sanhuang chicken legs(P<0.05),and a significant decrease in the abdominal fat percentage of Sanhuang chickens(P<0.05).(3)Compared with the cage group, the water content of the bedding flat group, net flat group, and understory free group significantly increased(P<0.05),and the crude protein content of the understory free group significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared with the cage group, bedding group, and net group, the free range group under the forest showed a significant decrease in crude fat content(P<0.05).Conclusion:The growth performance of Sanhuang chickens is optimal under the cage mode, and the slaughter performance and meat quality of Sanhuang chickens are optimal under the free range mode under the forest.
