The effects of green tea extract on growth performance, serum and intestinal immune indicators in broiler chickens
The aim of this experiment is to investigate the effects of Extract of Green Tea(EGT)on the growth performance, serum, and intestinal immune indicators of broiler chickens.720 healthy male broiler chicks with an average weight of 37.29±0.14 g were randomly divided into 4 groups, each consisting of 9 replicates, each containing 20 broilers. This experiment lasted for a total of 42 days and was divided into two stages:1~21 days and 22~42 days.0,120,240,and 480 mg/kg of EGT were added to the feed of the two stages as the experimental feed, respectively. The results showed that from 1 to 21 days, compared with the control group, the final weight of broiler chickens in the 240 mg/kg EGT group significantly increased by 4.65%(P<0.05);The feed to meat ratio significantly decreased by 6.04%(P<0.05);After 21 to 42 days, the initial weight of broiler chickens in the 240 mg/kg EGT group significantly increased by 4.65%(P<0.05),the final weight significantly increased by 5.22%(P<0.05),and the feed to meat ratio significantly decreased by 4.81%(P<0.05);After 1~42 days, the feed to meat ratio of broiler chickens in the 240 mg/kg EGT group was significantly reduced by 5.09%(P<0.05).In addition,EGT had no significant effect on the feed intake of broiler chickens throughout the entire period(P>0.05).The serum TP content of broiler chickens in the 240 mg/kg EGT group significantly increased(P<0.05);The serum BUN content and TG content of broiler chickens in the 240 and 480 mg/kg EGT groups were significantly reduced(P<0.05),T-AOC ability was significantly improved(P<0.05),and MDA content was significantly reduced(P<0.05);The TNF-α content was significantly reduced in the EGT group at 120~480 mg/kg(P<0.05).Duodenum:The expression level of TNF-α was significantly reduced in the EGT group at 120~480 mg/kg(P<0.05);Jejunum:The expression levels of TNF-α and IL-1 β were significantly reduced(P<0.05)in the EGT group of 240~480 mg/kg;Ileum:The expression levels of TNF-α and IL-1 β were significantly reduced in the EGT group at 240~480 mg/kg(P<0.05).In summary,EGT can promote the growth and development of broiler chickens by enhancing their immunity, with the best effect achieved at a dosage of 240 mg/kg.
