The experiment aims to explore the effects of adding luteolin(LUTN)to the feed on the growth performance, intestinal immune indicators, and morphology of piglets.256 healthy and physically fit ternary hybrid pigs(8.31±0.79 kg)were selected for the experiment and randomly divided into 4 groups(8 replicates x 8 pigs per group). The 4 groups were fed with basic feed(control group)and experimental Ⅰ,Ⅱ,and Ⅲ feed supplemented with 15,30,and 60 mg/kg LUTN,respectively. The experiment lasted for 28 days. The results showed that from day 1 to 14,LUTN had a significant effect on the growth performance of piglets(P>0.05);From 15 to 28 days, the average daily weight gain of piglets in the 60 mg/kg LUTN group increased by 6.69%(P<0.05),and the feed to meat ratio decreased by 5.50%(P<0.05).The diarrhea rate of piglets in the 30 and 60 mg/kg LUTN groups decreased by 60.28%and 54.57%,respectively(P<0.05);From 1 to 28 days, the final weight of piglets in the 60 mg/kg LUTN group increased by 3.72%,the average daily weight gain increased by 5.50%(P<0.05),and the feed to meat ratio decreased by 4.47%(P<0.05).The diarrhea rate of piglets in the 30 and 60 mg/kg LUTN groups decreased by 44.31%and 42.02%,respectively(P<0.05).The SIgA content in each intestinal segment of piglets in the LUTN group at a dose of 60 mg/kg was significantly increased(P<0.05),while the TNF-α content in the jejunum and ileum was significantly decreased(P<0.05);The levels of IL-6 in the duodenum and ileum were significantly reduced(P<0.05);The IL-1 content in the ileum of piglets in the LUTN groups at 30 and 60 mg/kg was significantly increased(P<0.05).The number of goblet cells in the duodenum of piglets in the LUTN groups at 30 and 60 mg/kg significantly increased(P<0.05),and the V/C value and lymphocyte count in the jejunum significantly increased(P<0.05);The number of goblet cells in the ileum significantly increased(P<0.05).Conclusion:LUTN(60 mg/kg)can significantly improve intestinal immune indicators and morphology, promote piglet growth and development.
