Effect of xylooligosaccharide on calcium concentration in faeces and urine in rats
Feed on rats with normal diet, low calcium diet, normal diet (including XOS), low calcium diet (including XOS) for 21 days. Observed the calcium intake, the calcium concentration in faeces and urine., and surface absorption. Obtained: XOS can improve calcium absorption and reduce fecal calcium excretion in rats. And the effect of XOS in low calcium diet is huger than in normal calcium diet. After one week, calcium excretion in faeces reduced to 8.09mg and 21.71mg in low calcium diet (including XOS) and in normal diet (including XOS) respectively, reduced by 59. 6% and 58.5% than Corresponding control groups; the surface absorption of calcium is 94. 84% and 92. 33% in low calcium diet (including XOS) and in normal diet (including XOS) respectively. But the effect on calcium excretion in urine is no significance Compared with the control group.
