The essential oil of "French-blue","Blue white flower" and "miscellaneous" were extracted from lavender leaves.The contents were tested according to the ISO6571-2008 standard method,and chemical composition was analyzed by gas chromatography (GC) /mass spectrometry (MS).The results showed that the contents and composition of essential oil of 3 different varieties of lavender leaves were very different.Essential oil content of miscellaneous lavender leaves was the highest,including the main component of eucalyptol (48.66%),camphor (25.69%),borneol (7.32%) etc;The essential oil content of French-blue lavender leaves is less than miscellaneous lavender,the main ingredients including caryophyllene oxide (18.05%),bicyclosesquiphellandrene (14.35%),borneol (11.92%) and lavandulyl acetate (7.06%) etc;Blue white flower lavender leaves essential oil contains caryophyllene oxide (6.38%),borneol (4.04%) etc.In addition,there were variety of organic acids.The essential oil of miscellaneous and French-blue lavender leaves have important value in food,medicine and daily chemical fields.This study provides a theoretical basis for the development and utilization of Xinjiang lavender leaves.
