A Human Feeding Trial of Walnut Milk on Memory Improvement
This study aimed to investigate the effect of walnut milk on cognitive function in a randomized,doubleblind,placebo-controlled trial.120 college students were given either walnut milk (two cans day (-1),240 mL can(-1)),or placebo for 60 days. The cognitive function was evaluated by using "The Clinical Memory Test" before and after the intervention for each student. Results showed that walnut milk led to higher pointing memory scores in experimental boys and girls compared to the placebo groups (P<0.05).And the scores of picture free recall test, portrait characteristic relationship recall test and the memory quotient were significantly increased in the experimental groups. These data suggest that walnut could improve the learning and memory function in college students.
