A New Mild Solution for Improving Closed Comedo:3X Smart Enzyme
Closed comedones are a common phenomenon in the early stages of acne, characterized by a high incidence rate. This phenomenon is primarily attributed to excessive keratinization of the follicular infundibulum, leading to obstruction of follicular sebaceous ducts.Exfoliation aids in alleviating closed comedones, and common keratolytic treatments include physical and chemical exfoliation. In response to the limitations of these two methods, this study proposes a new approach called"biological exfoliation"using 3X smart enzyme for keratolysis. To compare the safety and efficacy of 3X smart enzyme with salicylic acid for keratolysis, this study tested their effects on a 3D skin model, assessing skin tissue morphology, inflammatory factors interleukin-1α,tumor necrosis factor-α,the amount of surface corneal proteins exfoliation, and the ability to repair damaged skin. The results showed that, compared to salicylic acid,3X smart enzyme caused no significant damage to tissue morphology, released fewer inflammatory factors, exhibited stronger exfoliating capabilities for surface corneal proteins, and demonstrated significant repair abilities for damaged skin.
