Exploring the Current Status and Future Prospects of Real-World Research on Traditional Chinese Medicine Based on Bibliometric Analysis
Objective:This study aims to explore the current status of real-world research on traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)through bibliometric analysis and reveal potential future research directions. Methods:Based on the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)database,CiteSpace, and the CNKI Literature Analysis Tool, and other methods were used to study papers on real-world research in TCM published between January 2007 and July 2024,and to analyze the current status and trends of the field in terms of year of publication, institutions, authors, funding, topic distribution, and research progress. Results:A total of 758 relevant papers were included. The analysis showed an overall increasing trend in annual publications in this field. The main supporting institutions were Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and other related Chinese medicine universities and institutions. The research was mainly funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC).The main keywords identified were traditional Chinese medicine, data mining, and medication regimen. Conclusion:China's real-world research on TCM has gone through three stages. The early stage was more inclined to analyzing individual diseases and evidence-based medicine. In recent years, research has increasingly centered on TCM theories and perspectives.Future studies should delve deeper into the exploration of clinical efficacy and regulatory science in TCM.
