[Objective]To investigate the current state of Canada's agriculture and food system and analyze the priorities outlined in Canada's agriculture and food science strategy.The findings aim to serve as a reference for China in advancing agricultural science and technology innovation and ensuring national food security.[Method]Employing a literature analysis approach,the reality-policy-goal logi-cal framework is utilized to scrutinize the challenges faced by Canada's agriculture and food systems,national food policies and actions,and the objectives and priorities of the science strategy.[Result]Canada's Agriculture and Agri-Food Science Strategic Plan presents a forward-looking blueprint for future agricultural research and development,emphasizing the transition to sustainable agriculture and a transformation of the food system driven by a mission-oriented science strategy.[Conclusion]The Science Strategic Plan is poised to steer Canada's agricultural science agenda over the next decade,contributing to its continued global leadership in producing safe and sustainable food.The mission-driven science strategy adopted by Canada to spearhead the transformation of its food system offers valuable insights for China's sustainable agricultural development.
