Analysis of The Current Status of Nutrition Literacy Among Cancer Survivors
[Objective]To analyze the status of nutrition literacy among cancer survivors,so as to identify potential issues and provide a reference for implementing precise nutritional interventions to reduce the burden of cancer in China.[Method]A stratified sampling method was used to recruit a total of 3851 cancer survivors from the Shanghai Cancer Rehabilitation Club as study subjects for the nutrition literacy survey.[Result]The overall nutrition literacy of cancer survivors in Shanghai was 46.48%,with the literacy levels in the four dimensions of functional nutritional literacy, ability to apply nutritional knowledge, ability to obtain nutritional information, and reasoning and calculation abilities being 46.77%,48.27%,45.86%,and 31.37%,respectively. Factors such as gender, age, education level, and economic status significantly affected the nutrition literacy levels of cancer survivors.[Conclusion]The level of nutrition literacy among cancer survivors needs to be improved, especially their ability to calculate nutrient intake. There is little difference in the levels among people with different types of cancer. In the future, nutrition education should be further strengthened for cancer survivor groups including males, those with less than a high school diploma, and those with poor economic status.
