Potential role of cerebellin family in Zika virus biosecurity events
Zika virus can cross biological barriers to infect the nervous system, causing serious public health issues. As a key regulator of nervous system development, cerebellin(Cbln)family may have an interrelationship of interference and reg-ulation with Zika virus.Due to the pathogenic characteristics of Zika virus, the functional characteristics of Cbln family and its effect in the nervous system,Cbln family is expected to become an important molecular marker and therapeutic target after Zika virus infection. This paper reviews the potential pathogenic and immunological relationships between Zika virus and Cbln family, and explores the important role of Cbln in maintaining nervous system function and ensuring biosecurity.
