This paper provides a detailed overview of the structural design principles for MARK Ⅲ LNG carriers,emphasizing the need to meet not only hull strength,fatigue life,and conventional design requirements but also the specific demands of the cargo containment system.The study begins with an analysis of the cargo containment system and introduces targeted structural optimizations.The impact of these optimizations on the structural design of the cargo hold area is discussed,highlighting their reference value for MARK III LNG carriers.The findings contribute to reducing construction complexity and costs,offering technical insights and practical experience for the structural design and construction of LNG carrier cargo holds.
