Pubertal phenotype in interval-specific congenic mouse strains
Objective To screen the candidate genes of a puberty-relevant quantitative trait locus ( QTL) ( DXMit68-rs29053133 ) via detecting the sequence differences and pubertal phenotype between the inbred mouse strains A/J and C3H/HeJ( C3H ) . Methods To construct the interval specific congenic strains from A/J and C3H mice, and identify the pubertal phenotype of the female mice. Results The chromosomal sequence differences between A/J and C3H mice did not influence the pubertal phenotype significantly. Conclusion The candidate genes in the QTL showing sequence differences are not directly related with the puberty phenotypic differences between A/J and C3H mouse strains.
