Research Progress on Nucleocapsid Protein of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus
Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus(PEDV)is the causative agent of porcine epidemic diarrhea(PED)characterized by acute diarrhea, dehydration and even death in pigs.PEDV was first reported in 1971.Today,PEDV has become one of the most common pathogens in piglet diarrhea cases, causing great economic losses to the pig industry.Nucleocapsid protein is one of the main structural proteins of PEDV.This paper summarized the research progress of the nuclear localization signal, physiological function, interaction with host cells and detection methods of PEDV N protein in order to provide a better understanding of N protein and a reference for PED prevention and control.
