Epidemiological Investigation of ALV in Local Chicken Breeds in Guizhou
In order to understand the Avian leukosis virus(ALV),ALV prevalence from 2019 to 2021 of local breeds in Guizhou,DF-1 cells were inoculated with 331 plasma samples from 9 chicken farms and ALV p27 antigen ELISA was used to test 708 blood samples,180 egg whites and 61 cloacal cotton swabs. As a result,6 ALV strains were isolated with over all positive rate of 1.81%(6/331).The detailed positive rates of ALV isolation included 10%in Wumengfeng chickens,3.33%in Weining green shell layers,2.86%in Ma Yu black foot Weining chickens and yellow feather black foot Weining chickens, and 2.5%in yellow feather black bone chickens.Other local breeds were ALV negative. As for ALV p27 antigen ELISA detection, overall positive rate of blood samples was 40.81%(289/708).In addition,ALV p27 antigen ELISA testing revealed positive rates of 21.7%(39/180)for egg whites and 26.2%(16/61)for cloacal cotton swabs. These results indicated that there were different degrees of ALV infection in different varieties of chickens in Guizhou. This study lays the foundation for enriching the information on ALV infection in local breed chicken in Guizhou and for the prevention and control of AL in local breed chicken in Guizhou.
