Morphological observation and tissue distribution of four kinds of endocrine cells in the digestive tract of Coturnix aponica
The purpose of this paper was to observe tissue distribution, density and morphological characteristics of four kinds of endocrine cells in the digestive tract of Coturnix aponica by using the streptavi din-biotin-peroxidase complex(SABC) immunohistochemical method. In result, the somatostatin secreting cells could obviously be found in proventriculus and duodenum, but not in esophagus, ingluvies, gizzard and caecum. The highest distributive density part was in proventriculus, and the second was in duodenum.Ileum and rectum were in a much lower density. However, the result of statistical analysis showed that there was not significantly difference(P>0.05) among the various parts of the intestine except for the proventriculus which was significantly difference(P<0.05).Besides,the number of somatostatin secreting cells was not significantly(P>0.05) difference between the same parts of female and male, and their shapes were quite the same. The level of 5-hydroxy tryptamine was also the same.Gastrin and neuropeptide could not be found in each part of the digestive tract. In conclusion, the distribution of endocrine cells in the digestive tract of C.aponica is relevant to the function of each part of the digestive tract.
