Research progress of animal virus-like particles vaccine expressed by Escherichia coli
The Escherichia coli expression system is widely employed for heterologous protein ex-pression due to its numerous advantages, including high expression yield, short production cycle, and low cost.It has been reported that more than 30%of recombinant protein drugs and 50%of recombinant protein preparations utilize Escherichia coli as the preferred host organism.consequently,Es-cherichia coli holds significant importance in the economical production of veterinary vaccines. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the production and research advancements in utilizing the Escherichia coli expression system for animal virus-like particle vaccine applications.Furthermore,it summarizes the current challenges faced by this system in vaccine development along with potential solutions, aiming to offer valuable insights for future studies on animal virus-like particle vaccines employing Escherichia coli as an expression host.
