Biological characteristics of medium virulent strain of Glaesserella parasuis identified as serovar 8
In order to illustrate the pathogenic characteristics of the clinically weakly virulent strains of Glaesserella parasuis(Gps). The lung, trachea, pericardial fluid and other samples were col-lected aseptically from clinical suspected cases of Grasser's disease in pigs,The isolated strains were identified and analyzed for their pathogenic characteristics through bacterial isolation and purification, microscopic examination, biochemical identification,16S rRNA amplification and sequencing, guinea pig pathogenicity testing, and drug sensitivity testing of agar diffusion. It was confirmed that the pathogenic bacterium isolated from the lung samples was the serotype 8 of Gps,which carried multi-ple virulence genes such as vtal,vta2,vta3,and had a certain degree of pathogenicity to guinea pigs, but the virulence was relatively weak. And the strain carried multiple resistance genes to aminoglycosides, tetracyclines, and sulphonamides, and clinically showed obvious multi-drug resistance, and shows signifi-cant resistance to compound sulfamethoxazole, aminoglycosides, and tetracyclines, and the resistance phenotypes and drug-resistant genotypes were basically matched. The isolated Gps in the current re-search was susceptible to cephalosporins, florfenicol, macrolides and quinolones, and the effect of clini-cal application were significant. The results of this study provide reference information for the epi-demiological investigation and clinical prevention and control of serotype 8 of Gps.
