Research advances in antigenic epitopes of structural proteins of PEDV
Porcine epidemic diarrhea(PED),caused by porcine epidemic diarrhea virus(PEDV),is a significant disease that causes huge economic losses for the pig production.The virus with its various genotypes,rapid mutation,and lack of cross-protection among different genotypes,presents real diffi-culties for disease prevention and control.More understanding of the viral antigenic epitopes is cru-cial for anti-viral drugs,vaccines and diagnostic reagents development.This review summarizes the current knowledge on PEDV structural protein epitopes and their functions,aiming to provide insights on the development of drugs,vaccines and diagnosis reagents for PED.
