Construction of a mixed teaching system containing BOPPPS teaching model and a novel classroom response system and its application in undergraduates'theoretical learning of periodontology
There are numerous periodontitis patients in China,but dentists engaged in periodontology are far from being sufficient.Due to the tremendous courses,heavy tasks and few class hours for the undergraduates'theoretical learning of periodontology,it is difficult to achieve satisfactory results using traditional teaching methods.The Department of Peri-odontology,School of Stomatology,Wuhan University innovatively proposed a mixed teaching system based on modified BOPPPS model and a novel classroom response system.The system improves the popular BOPPPS teaching model by in-troducing a novel classroom response system Mentimeter while retaining its main frame,which makes up for the shortcom-ings of BOPPPS such as its poor interaction and delayed feedback.The present study analyzes the construction of this system and evaluates its effects on the undergraduates'theoretical teaching of periodontology,which will provide refer-ence for the application of modern scientific and technological methods in classroom teaching reform under the back-ground of new medical science.
