Research progress in finite element analysis of orthodontic maxillary expansion
Maxillary expansion is one of the most vital treatment regimens for treating maxillary transverse deficiency and harmonizing the relationship between the upper and lower jaws.Finite element analysis is a practical and efficient digital biomechanical analysis method to study maxillary expansion.The way to obtain the least dental effect and the most bony effect during maxillary expansion is a research hotspot in the field of orthodontics.This paper reviews the research prog-ress in finite element analysis of orthodontic maxillary expansion,and discusses the stress changes of maxilla and the trend of tooth movement in different maxillary expansion methods,so as to provide reference for clinical application.
