Root canal irrigation is considered to be the most effective method for cleaning and disinfecting root ca-nals.In recent years,the theory of kinematic activation irriga-tion has become a hot topic,with passive ultrasonic irrigation being the most widely used in clinical practice.Passive ultra-sonic irrigation is divided into two modes:intermittent ultra-sonic irrigation and continuous ultrasonic irrigation.This arti-cle introduces the principles of passive ultrasonic root canal ir-rigation and the advantages and disadvantages of the two modes.
