Catheter ablations(CAs)for cardiac arrhythmias have become independent of X-ray in consequence of the development of cardiac three-dimensional(3D)mapping systems, especially the emergence of intracardiac echocardiography(ICE).CAs may now be performed in a purposefully designed fluoroless electrophysiology catheterization laboratory(EP Lab).Performing cardiac electrophysiological procedures without radiation can expand the workplace of CAs and relieve occupational damage to medical personnels.CAs under zero X-ray can bring day-care surgery in atrial fibrillation into practice.A series of new fluoroless conceptions and approaches are springing up in CAs,such as publication of Chinese expert consensus on the construction criteria and operationel skills of the fluoroless cardiac electrophysiology laboratory and transseptal puncture with guidewire in sheath with the assistance of electrocautery.
