Reasonable selection and application of non-invasive respiratory support after extubation
Non-invasive respiratory support, such as high-flow nasal cannula and non-invasive ventilation,is increasingly used in critically ill or postoperative patients after extubation.Clinicians and respiratory therapists need to understand the pathophysiological changes due to extubation failure and make appropriate choices and management of non-invasive respiratory support for different types of patients at different timings.Future studies should focus on specific patients, optimization of the management of respiratory support and new respiratory monitoring indicators, and it is epected to have more multicenter,large-sample and high-quality studies.
