Investigation on the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and far-infrared treatment in patients with Malassezia folliculitis
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and far-infrared treatment in patients with Malassezia folliculitis.Methods 160 cases of Malassezia folliculitis were randomly divided into a control group and a study group,with 80 cases in each group.The control group received far-infrared treatment,and the study group received far-infrared treatment combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation.The total efficacy,serum inflammatory factors,symptom score,comfort score,sleep quality score,anxiety score,depression scores,and quality of life score before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of 97.50％in the study group was higher than that of 87.50％in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of C-reactive protein(CRP),procalcitonin(PCT),interleukin-6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in both groups were lower than those before treatment;and CRP of(5.89±1.06)mg/L,PCT of(0.46±0.15)ng/ml,IL-6 of(87.64±19.32)pg/ml and TNF-α of(10.83±2.07)ng/L in the study group were lower than those of(7.02±1.27)mg/L,(0.69±0.23)ng/ml,(114.50±25.87)pg/ml and(13.49±2.46)ng/L in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of papules,pustules,skin pruritus and skin lesions in both groups were lower than those before treatment;the papular score in the study group was(1.06±0.31)points,the pustule score was(1.24±0.38)points,the skin pruritus score was(1.16±0.40)points and the skin lesion score was(1.19±0.32)points,which were lower than those of(1.52±0.48),(1.64±0.37),(1.61±0.45)and(1.62±0.35)points in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the comfort scores of patients in the two groups increased,and the scores of anxiety,depression and sleep quality decreased;and the comfort scores of(102.80±6.57)points in the study group were higher than that of(93.25±6.30)points in the control group;the anxiety score in the study group was(40.90±3.74)points,the depression score was(41.85±3.81)points and the sleep quality score was(10.49±1.31)points,which were all lower than those of(45.61±3.96),(46.98±4.37)and(12.36±1.58)points in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of physiology,psychology,environment and social relations in both groups were higher than those before treatment;and the physiology score in the study group was(89.75±6.48)points,the psychology score was(89.07±6.02)points,the environment score was(90.14±6.15)points and the social relation score was(89.96±6.27)points,which were higher than those of(82.93±6.85),(82.40±6.13),(83.27±6.30)and(83.14±6.54)points in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with Malassezia folliculitis,the traditional Chinese medicine fumigation together with the far-infrared treatment can enhance the treatment effect,reduce the inflammatory reaction,relieve the symptoms,increase the physical comfort,improve the patient's psychology and sleep,and improve their quality of life.
