The value of indirect signs in ultrasound diagnosis of acute pancreatitis
Objective To investigate the value of indirect signs in ultrasound diagnosis of acute pancreatitis. Methods Retrospective analysis of clinical data of ultrasound examination and image changes in 46 patients with acute pancreatitis.Identification of non significant changes in the pancreas itself during ultrasound diagnosis of acute pancreatitis,as evidenced by indirect extrapancreaticsigns. Results Among 46 patients with pancreatitis, when the changes in the pancreas itself were not significant, ultrasound peripancreatic indirect signs showed peripancreatic retinal sac thickening in 38 cases(82%),pancreatic margin irregularity in 29 cases(63%),peripancreatic hypoechoic vocal cord in 25 cases(54%),peripancreatic effusion in 20 cases(43%),peripancreatic necrotic tissue in 4 cases(9%).Conclusion Indirect extrapancreatic ultrasound signs have important value in the diagnosis of acute pancreatitis.
