Efficacy and safety analysis of Simi tooth coating agent in the treatment of enamel demineralization during orthodontic treatment
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Simi tooth coating agent in the treatment of enamel demineralization(ED)during orthodontic treatment. Methods 68 malocclusion patients with orthodontic treatment were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group, with 34 cases in each group. The control group was given Duraphat 50 mg/ml Dental Suspension, and the experimental group was given Simi tooth coating agent. The periodontal status[plaque index, modified bleeding index(mBI)],incidence of ED and enamel demineralization index(EDI)were compared between the two groups after treatment. Results At 6,9 and 12 months after treatment, the plaque index in the experimental group were(1.98±0.13),(1.95±0.20),(1.00±0.11),and mBI were(1.65±0.12),(1.19±0.13),(0.92±0.06),which were significantly lower than those of(2.65±0.15),(2.48±0.22),(1.71±0.15)and(2.06±0.14),(1.53±0.10),(1.09±0.05)in the control group(P<0.05).At 6,9 and 12 months after treatment, the incidence rates of ED in the experimental group were 14.71%,8.82%and 0,respectively,which were significantly lower than those of 41.18%,29.41%and 11.76%in the control group(P<0.05).EDI in the experimental group at 6,9 and 12 months after treatment were(16.35±1.20),(13.58±1.47)and(9.26±1.02),respectively,which were significantly lower than those of(20.18±1.62),(17.50±1.53)and(15.14±1.15)in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Simi tooth coating agent for malocclusion patients undergoing orthodontic treatment is safe and effective, and can effectively prevent ED events, improve periodontal indicators, and is worth adopting.
