Application value of high-frequency ultrasound-guided small needle scalpel in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome
Objective To investigate the application value of high-frequency ultrasound-guided small needle scalpel in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome(CTS).Methods A total of 63 patients with CTS were randomly divided into a control group(31 cases)and an observation group(32 cases). The control group received small-needle scalpel treatment, and the observation group received high-frequency ultrasound-guided small-needle scalpel treatment. The clinical efficacy, visual analogue scale(VAS)score and global symptom score(GSS),and ultrasonic measurement indexes(median nerve cross-sectional area at the level of pea bone, the transverse carpal ligament thickness at the level of hamate, and the anterior and posterior diameter of median nerve at the level of hamate)of the two groups were compared. Results The excellent and good rate of the observation group was 93.75%,which was significantly higher than 67.74%of the control group(P<0.05).After 2 and 4 weeks of treatment, the VAS scores of the observation group were(1.35±0.52),(1.01±0.36)points,and the GSS scores were(15.25±2.04)and(8.97±1.63)points,which were significantly lower than the control group's(2.74±0.85),(2.03±0.62)points,and(20.09±2.31),(15.72±2.06)points(P<0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment, the median nerve cross-sectional area at the level of pea bone, the transverse carpal ligament thickness at the level of hamate were(0.10±0.01)cm2 and(0.19±0.02)cm in the observation group, which were smaller than(0.14±0.02)cm2 and(0.30±0.04)cm in the control group, and the anterior and posterior diameter of median nerve at the level of hamate of(0.24±0.04)cm was greater than(0.20±0.03)cm in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion High-frequency ultrasound guided small needle scalpel in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome has significant application effect, which can effectively relieve median nerve compression, relieve finger and wrist symptoms, and has positive clinical significance.
