Study on the effect of"Tiao Shen Fu Zheng Pai Du Tang"based on the theory of"Treating the Spirit"in traditional Chinese medicine on the time to viral RNA clearance of nucleic acid in asymptomatic COVID-19 patients
Objective To explore the efficacy of using the"Tiao Shen Fu Zheng Pai Du Tang"at different times in the treatment of patients with asymptomatic infection of corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19).Methods The clinical data of 105 patients with asymptomatic infection of corona virus disease 2019 were retrospectively analyzed.All patients took Tiao Shen Fu Zheng Pai Du Tang and were divided into≤3 d group(37 cases),4-6 d group(47 cases),and 7-9 d group(21 cases)based on the time of starting the"Tiao Shen Fu Zheng Pai Du Tang".The basic data,time to viral RNA clearance were compared among the three groups,and multiple linear regression analysis was used to assess the impact of age and different medication times on the time to viral RNA clearance.Results 18 males and 19 females in the≤3 d group,with an average age of(26.85±15.87)years;15 males and 32 females in the 4-6 d group,with an average age of(28.91±18.12)years;10 males and 11 females in the 7-9 d group,with an average age of(26.95±16.43)years.There was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05)in the comparison of general data among three groups.The time to viral RNA clearance was(6.84±0.80)d in the≤3 d group,(10.09±0.78)d in the 4-6 d group,and(12.81±0.81)d in the 7-9 d group.There was a statistically significant difference in the time to viral RNA clearance among the three groups(P<0.01).The time of starting the medication was positively correlated with the time to viral RNA clearance(P<0.01,R2=0.88),suggesting that starting the"Tiao Shen Fu Zheng Pai Du Tang"earlier was associated with a shorter time to viral RNA clearance.Age did not have a significant impact on the time to viral RNA clearance.(P>0.05).Conclusion Starting the"Tiao Shen Fu Zheng Pai Du Tang"earlier in asymptomatic patients with COVID-19 is associated with a shorter time to viral RNA clearance.These findings suggest that the"Tiao Shen Fu Zheng Pai Du Tang"may have a positive effect on improving the recovery speed of the patients.
